2. Navigate to https://flowlens.app/ and choose the stock menu
3. From the actions menu choose new part
4. Or you can click on your parts list and create a part here
5. Update the part number and name. Give it a revision if needed
6. If this part requires a serial number, turn serialised on. You can now choose how you want the serial number to appear by configuring the prefix, postfix and filler numbers.
7. You can choose whether you want the serial strategy to be sequentially generated by system or manual.
8. If this product is sold, turn this feature on. If it is a purchase product you will need to turn purchased on. These will determine whether the part can be added to sales orders or purchase orders.
9. Click this option to confirm this part is manufactured on site.
10. If this is a manufactured component, you will have the option to decide if you want it to be automatically built in line. If you don't turn this on, you will have to manually click build in line on each job card step it appears on.
11. Track stock will default to on. You can turn this off for non tangible parts. Automatically allocate from stock will also default to on. If you want to manually allocate these products to job cards or sales orders, you will need to turn this off. If the part has batch numbers please turn this feature on.
12. Part categories have to be configured in the settings menu before they can be added to a part as this is a search field. Navigate to https://flowlens.app/settings/part-categories to add these.
If this part is consumed, sold or purchased in fractional quantities, set this option to on. Make sure a unit of measure is added for all parts.
13. Update parts costs here. This is especially important for components which have been imported as starting stock to Flowlens to ensure your job card costs are correct. The cost price strategy will default to manual for now.
14. Update your sales and purchase descriptions. These will appear on sales orders and purchase orders accordingly.
15. Click "Create Part" to save changes.
16. Now we can add the manufacturing workflow - head to this tab
17. Click "Edit Workflow"
18. You can amend the information on the details tab as necessary. Click the steps tab to add the workflow
19. An assembly step will pre-populate on all parts you have marked as 'manufactured'. Update this with the first step in your assembly.
20. The name of the step is how it will appear in the job card and on steps that appear on the shop floor app for each user.
Users are linked to resources. Resources can be configured in the settings menu: https://flowlens.app/settings/resources

23. Workflow stages can also be configured in the settings menu: https://flowlens.app/settings/workflow-stages

25. Update the work instructions here.
26. Click "Update Step" to save changes.
27. To add the required components and pick list click "Parts"
28. You can add as many components as required from your parts list.
29. When adding quantities, if a part is consumed in fractional quantities you must make sure the part is set up to use fractional quantities. You can adjust this in the actions menu of the part i.e. stock > parts > click on part > from actions menu click edit part > turn on fractional quantities.
30. Click "Add Part" to save changes
31. Now we can add a new step in the workflow. You can add as many steps as you need. To bulk import your BOMs/ manufacturing workflows - please speak to a member of our team.
32. You can move steps around by using the arrows to the left of each step.
33.
34. Add the required components for the next step
35.
36. Now we can view the dependency graph
37. This shows that the PCB assembly and final assembly can be completed alongside one another but we need the PCB to be completed BEFORE the final assembly so we can create a dependency in the workflow.
38. Navigate to the higher level assembly step and click on dependencies
39. Add dependency.
40. Select any of the former steps
41. Click "Add Dependency"
42. Now the dependency graph will show the updated assembly line.
